Your ship anchors in the bay. A tender brings you ashore to boulevard Jean Hibert on the lower harbour. We are waiting at the landing — name board, Mercedes V-Class, no fuss. From Cannes, the eastern Riviera opens in one direction: Nice in thirty minutes, Eze on the Corniche above it, Monaco at the end of the road. The most complete shore excursion from this port.
The route.
Four stops, one day.
We leave Cannes heading east on the A8 — Nice is about 30 kilometres, thirty to thirty-five minutes depending on traffic. First stop: the Vieux-Port and Cours Saleya, the flower and food market that runs every morning until noon. The old town behind it — narrow lanes, baroque churches, Italianate ochre facades, the light that made the Impressionists stay. For a first visit, an hour is the minimum. If you have been before, forty-five minutes in the market and we leave before the coaches arrive from the cruise terminal.
From Nice we take the Moyenne Corniche — the middle of the three coastal roads, the one Hitchcock used in To Catch a Thief. The road climbs through the hills above the resort towns and the sea opens below you. We make two stops: once for the view back toward Nice and the Cap Ferrat peninsula; once just before Eze where Monaco appears in the distance for the first time, compressed against the sea. These stops add fifteen to twenty minutes and are not optional — they are part of why you came.
Moyenne Corniche — the middle road to Eze
Eze is a medieval village built on a volcanic rock at 427 metres above the sea. Pedestrian from the gate — we leave you there and wait at the car park below. The lanes are steep, cobbled, and largely unchanged since the thirteenth century. At the top: the Jardin Exotique (€7) built around the ruins of a château, with cacti, succulents, and a view that takes in Cap Ferrat, Monaco, and on clear days the Italian coast as far as Bordighera. Sixty to seventy-five minutes here; not a minute wasted.
From Eze we descend to Monaco — the Principality, 2.02 square kilometres, ruled by the Grimaldi family since 1297. Port Hercule for the yachts: super-yachts moored stern-to, the scale of the boats against the buildings. The Casino de Monte-Carlo gardens and the Belle Époque façade — you can walk past without going in and still understand what this place is about. Then Le Rocher, the old town on the rock: the cathedral where Grace Kelly is buried, the palace changing of the guard at 11:55 if your timing allows, the view from the ramparts south over the sea. The return to Cannes by the A8 takes approximately 75 minutes.

Questions.
Plain answers.
At boulevard Jean Hibert, on the lower harbour in Cannes — the tender landing pier. We will be there with a name board before your tender docks. Boulevard Jean Hibert is directly in front of the tender dock, before the taxi rank. If you have any difficulty, WhatsApp us: +33 6 69 96 22 72.
The full Nice–Eze–Monaco route typically runs 5 to 6 hours from Cannes — Nice is about 30 kilometres, thirty minutes each way. We can shorten the itinerary if your ship has an early departure, usually by reducing time in Nice or Monaco. Eze is never cut short. Send us your ship name and departure time when you enquire.
No. We drop you at the village gate and wait with the car. Eze is better without a guide. We tell you where to find Chèvre d'Or before you go in.
We wait. There is no extra charge for tender delays. We stay in WhatsApp contact throughout the day and adapt the itinerary accordingly if the shore window is reduced. Cannes ships anchor in the bay; tender delays are standard and we have built this into our planning from the start.
Yes. Steep, cobbled, uneven lanes. Some sections have significant drops. Manageable for most people in reasonable health; not suitable for wheelchairs. Comfortable shoes strongly recommended.
Yes, and we often suggest it for guests who have already visited Nice. Skipping Nice gives an extra hour in Eze and a more relaxed Monaco circuit. Mention it when you enquire.
